Cloisonné pins use porcelain glass for colorfill

Cloisonné provides the highest quality available. As with Die Struck Enamel, the design is stamped into the base metal. The recessed areas are then filled by hand with colored glass powder, hot-fired at 1,600-1,900 degrees, then ground and polished by hand to a beautiful, rich finish.
Although this process is limited by detail and availability of colors, Cloisonné remains the Rolls Royce of production techniques.
